In 2010 FORM initiated The Pilbara Project creating stories through images and words which consider the collision and interconnection of the land, industry and cultures of the Pilbara. Pilbara Stories continues this project with leading international photographers, Martin Parr, Ketaki Sheth, Bharat Sikka, Annet van der Voort and John Elliott turning a lens on the Pilbara’s people and community, through a body of work that celebrates the diverse heritage, individuality and experiences of everyday life in the Pilbara with a focus on Port Hedland and surrounds, accompanied by oral histories and personal stories, Pilbara Stories presents a portrait of contemporary life in the Pilbara.
